It is reputed to produce the best tobacco in the world, owing to the area's sandy soil and humid climate. This province accounts for 60% of Cuba's plantations. Vinales Valley boasts an exotic landscape with valleys crowded with royal palms; the national tree of Cuba. The Vinales Valley is also home to caves, clffs and hills, adding to the charming scenery.  The province's limestone bedrock is riddled with caves and underground waters.
